Wouldn’t it be nice to have a magic button that did all your home management tasks at the same time? If you have the Scenes feature on your smart home security app, you do. In fact, Scenes gives you than one button: Home, Away, Sleep and Wake Up. Each of these buttons is constructed for those times of day where you need to have your system do multiple things at the same time. What times of day? Here are the four that already have buttons built into the scenes feature.
Coming Home – When you return home from work, the last thing you want is to enter a dark house. By tapping on the Home button, you’re commanding your system to turn on the interior lights and unlock the front door. Now, entering the house is a comforting experience rather than an anxious one.</div>
Leaving Home – Leaving home for the day or evening? Tap the Away button to command your system to set your alarm, lock your front door, close your garage and adjust your thermostat. After that quick tap, you’re ready to leave and can relax about what’s going on at home.</div>
Going to Bed – At bedtime, you’ll want to turn the lights off and lock the doors. That’s the job of your Sleep button. Of course, it also sets the alarm to make sure you sleep soundly without fear of intrusion. And because our systems are energy conscious, this button also turns down the thermostat for the night.
Waking Up -When you wake up, tap the Wake Up button to turn on specific lights, warm up the house by a few degrees and disarm the alarm until everyone is out the door. As soon as they’re off for the day, you can switch back to the Away button to arm the system as you leave. It’s amazing what you can accomplish with just a couple of taps.
